A few new developments this week which really had me reconsidering about the role of humans in future society. It started last weekend when OpenAI offered to solve the CAPTCHA image for me (the very thing which is supposed to differentiate bots from humans 🤣 ), which probably wasn’t very hard given the pace of AI development, but this week we also saw Tesla starting to offer rides in its Cybercab and Vara announcing the first in the world to receive regulatory approval for a breast triage tool that bypasses radiologist review for certain mammograms. In a future where roles from drivers to radiologists are being disintermediated, what value can a human bring? In my view, this comes back to tacit knowledge .
