The topic has been propelled back into the limelight in the last couple of weeks after Jacob Coxon quit Anthropic stating that top artificial intelligence labs are "gambling with our lives" in a reckless race toward self-improving superintelligence. Beyond Jacob’s CNN interview , I felt MIT Tech Review’s roundtable was a good summary of where the world stands; AFR also had a good write-up and with a great David Rowe cartoon (see below).
