Plastic cookie anyone?

*Hi,*

*As open as I am to new technologies, one read this week really made me think twice. Plastic pollution is a huge issue; one new proposed solution? We eat it. *[New Scientist](https://www.newscientist.com/article/2585463-plastic-bottles-can-be-turned-into-edible-vanilla-flavour-cookies/)* reported this week of a team who have come up with a solution where plastic bottles and agricultural waste can be converted into consumable cookies via genetically engineered yeast. In other news; are you more of a swiss, smart or retro watch person? For myself I have a smart watch, but also a Casio. They’re cheap, do the job and you never have to charge them! So I was very excited to reda about the F-B100W – a marriage of the two.*

**Idea of the week:* Oneview (ASX:ONE)**** reported 1H26a results last week. What we saw was *[validation of the company’s two-track GTM strategy](https://homodeus.one/research/report/oneview-healthcare-one-ax-quality-over-quantity-company-report)* with both their Baxter partnership funnel as well as new revenue channel from Bedside Hub being quantified. We admit that Oneview has had its challenges. That said, the validation of new opportunities, combined with their *[5× new logo growth since Post COVID](https://homodeus.one/research/report/oneview-healthcare-one-ax-5-new-logo-growth-is-just-the-beginning-initiation-coverage)*, provides us the conviction, that we are now starting to see early signs of inflecting profit growth. We *[initiated coverage on Oneview](https://homodeus.one/research/report/oneview-healthcare-one-ax-5-new-logo-growth-is-just-the-beginning-initiation-coverage)* in July*

- New Multisociety Expert Consensus Statement Says Safer Technologies are Available Now and Should Become the Standard for Protecting Healthcare Workers: Healthcare professionals performing minimally invasive procedures in fluoroscopy laboratories, often called “cath labs,” should no longer have to accept preventable radiation exposure and orthopedic injuries as part of their jobs, according to an expert consensus statement released today that is endorsed by six leading medical societies. - Anthropic’s best AI model struggles to attract users as cheaper tools thrive The availability of cheap, open-weight models from China and elsewhere has provided customers with more alternatives to the leading US labs, while there are also signs that Sam Altman’s OpenAI is gaining ground after slipping back for much of 2026. Kharazian said “If you impute previous trends you expect Anthropic to own the market. But because [OpenAI’s newest model] was so good and Fable underperformed, it’s been the reverse,” Source: [FT](https://www.ft.com/content/5ee49718-c258-4f01-aa32-7e5b76ae5245?syn-25a6b1a6=1) HD View: my exact experience hence [turning off my Claude subscription](https://homodeus.one/research/report/the-next-evolution-scx-on-the-asx-a4n-at-overcapacity-4-days-gta-vi-for-2-years-service-weekly) . - Australia’s $150b data centre boom risks becoming an economic mirage: The developer could be offshore (AirTrunk, Stack) or onshore (CDC, NextDC), but the data centre user (the Google/Amazon/Microsofts of the world) is most likely offshore. The customers (the ones watching Netflix) are onshore, but paying for the privilege.
